780,000 viewings in 7 days! That's what this series of 3 Lenovo
ads had achieved by 29th October on one of the YouTube-like sites in China.
The campaign
follows the fortunes of two colleagues - one, the "alpha male", the other an IdeaPad Y430 user. Thanks to
the various features of his computer, the underdog manages to stay on top.
Lenovo is flying high on its China - homeground; with HP and Dell working hard to cut its
lead there.
Globally, Lenovo share was at 7.3% Q3
2008 (down from 7.8% the quarter before).
Hewlett
Packard claimed 18% share of global shipments and Dell 13.6%.
